What is RSS? In terms of social networking, this is a way used to create your own timeline. Just like in social networks where you’re following other people and pages, for RSS you use an RSS browser, an RSS reader application, register the URL to the RSS source of the blog, online newspaper, etc. to follow. The advantages depend on the reader application, but as you can see in our screenshot above, it is usually built with distraction free graphical interface in mind, with few elements and options, to let you focus on reading the posts.
